This is not garden styling. It is not lawn maintenance. It is not a quick fix with a bag of mulch and a prayer. This is ecological design — thoughtful, layered, alive — rooted in native plants and a deep love for this Hill Country land.
Every project is different. Every piece of land has its own story, its own needs, its own wild potential waiting to be coaxed forward. I come to listen first. Then we get to work.
(And no — I don't do lawns. Life is too short and the pollinators need us. 🌿)
Land stewardship design
This is where the listening begins. We look at your land together — the light, the soil, the slope, the life already trying to happen there — and we design with native and adaptive plants that belong here, that thrive here, that ask very little and give everything back. And then there are the anchors — the yuccas, agaves, and cacti that give every landscape its bones. Structure. Drama. Deep Hill Country roots. They don't just survive here; they belong here in a way few plants can claim.
Some clients want a detailed design and plant list in hand — meticulous notes, sourcing guidance, a clear roadmap they can follow. Others hand me the keys and say go — and I get in the dirt with my team, and bring the vision to life.
At the heart of every design is the whole cycle. Pollinator gardens that do far more than feed bees — they create a living web. Food and habitat for beneficial insects, shelter for lizards, berries and seeds for birds, balance restored to a small corner of the earth. When we plant with the whole system in mind, something extraordinary happens. The land comes alive in ways through the seasons that brings wonder.
This is revitalization and layering — adding depth, texture, and life to land that has been waiting. It gets more beautiful every season.
Pocket prairies
A pocket prairie is exactly what it sounds like — a small piece of wild, right outside your door. Wildflowers. Native grasses. A living, shifting tapestry that feeds pollinators, supports birds, and reminds us what this land looked like before we tidied it into submission.
I'll be honest with you — pocket prairies take time to fully arrive. So we add in grasses and companion plants early, so there's always softness and beauty while the prairie finds its feet. Worth every patient moment.
Native plant containers & small spaces
Not every rewilding starts with a yard. Sometimes it starts with a pot. A porch. A courtyard. A coffee shop window box that stops someone in their tracks and makes them ask — what is that? And why is everything landing on it?
Native plant containers bring the same ecological magic as a full landscape — pollinators, beauty, belonging — into the smallest of spaces. They are also one of the most powerful ways to show people that native plants are not scraggly or wild in the wrong sense. They are extraordinary. They just need someone to champion them.
This is demonstration as much as design. Every native container in a public space is a quiet act of advocacy — proof that beauty and ecology are not opposites, but the same thing wearing different clothes.

How it begins
Most people find me through our local plant nursery or a past client who sent them my way. I don't advertise. I believe in word of mouth, in trust passed hand to hand like a good seed.
We start with a conversation — about your land, your vision, what you love, what you want to protect, what you want to invite in. Then I come and stand on your ground. I look at the light, the soil, the slope, the life already trying to happen there.
From there we build something together. I bring trusted hands when the work calls for it — contract help for the heavy digging, the grading, the aggregate. But the design, the plant knowledge, the relationship — that is always me, always personal, always rooted in care.
This is not a transaction. It is the beginning of a stewardship. And that changes everything about how we work.
